Creating Groups Using AutoCAD

When you create a group, you can give the group a name and description. If you copy a group, the copy is given the default name Ax and is considered unnamed. Unnamed groups are not listed in the Object Grouping dialog box unless you select Include Unnamed.
If you choose a member of a selectable group for inclusion in a new group, all members of that selectable group are included in the new group. In the following example, you create a group consisting of the objects in the window. This group can then be copied multiple times.

To create a group

  1. At the Command prompt, enter group.
  2. In the Object Grouping dialog box under Group Identification, enter a group name and a description.
  3. Choose New. The dialog box closes temporarily.
  4. Select objects and press ENTER.
  5. Choose OK.
