The COPYLINK command copies the current view to the Clipboard, rather than copying selected objects. If you select a viewport, AutoCAD copies the viewport contents. Otherwise, it copies the drawing area.
You can copy the current AutoCAD view and link it to another file. Unlike embedding, linking creates a reference to the source. If the source view is updated, you have to update only the link to update all linked copies of the view.
To copy a view to the Clipboard
- Select a viewport or display the view you want to copy.
- From the Edit menu, choose Copy Link.
Command line COPYLINK
